WHITE MALE – 52 YEARS OF AGE - 5FT, 11 INCHES– 200 LBS

GRAYING HAIR AND GOATEE – BROWN EYES

 

On October 14, 2011 a white male entered the United Bank at

1041 Berryville Avenue
with a handgun and demanded money.  The tellers complied and the suspect left the business.  The suspect shot at responding officers who then returned fire.  The suspect wrecked the vehicle he was driving in a ditch and was not seen leaving the area.  He was identified through DMV records as James Louis Whittlesey of Maryland.  Whittlesey is still at large.

ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE PRESS RELEASE

As reported last week, the Winchester area recently experienced a significant amount of compromised credit card activity.  Alamo Drafthouse Cinema was one of the businesses identified as a location where a number of the people with compromised cards had made recent purchases during the time frame of approximately the end of June, 2011 to late August, 2011.

Grand Larceny

1996 Mazda B223 2x2 pick up truck

Maroon in color

Virginia reg. KBS-8913

 

This vehicle was stolen out of the victim’s driveway at 1277 Airport Road in Frederick County, Virginia.  The keys were in the ignition and ½ tank of fuel was in the vehicle. The victim also reports his wallet; credit cards, driver’s license and a red toolbox with misc. tools were also in the truck.  The truck had two decals in the back windows.  One decal said “Bo Feathers-91 and the other 39 Eldora Speedway”. 

When this vehicle was stolen a number of other larcenies and attempted larcenies of four-wheelers along with a breaking and entering of a residence occurred in the same area.  This vehicle has been entered into NCIC/VCIN.

MEDIA RELEASE

The Berryville Police Department is investigating two larcenies from Breeze Power Equipment on First Street in the Town of Berryville. During the early morning of April 28, 2008 forced entry was made into the business and a Snapper 11 hp electric start generator was stolen. Investigation has revealed that an early 1990’s Chevy Lumina mini-van with a sunroof may have been involved in the larceny.

The second larceny occurred during the early morning of May 2, 2008 where entry to the business was again forced. During this larceny 13 Stihl chainsaws were stolen.
