Frederick County Crime of the Week - December 26, 2011 The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, located at 200 Sulky Drive. On October 23, 2011, it was reported that unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the building. Once inside, suspect(s) removed a significant amount of cash, along with some other miscellaneous items. . Winchester Crime of the Week - December 19, 2011 Location: Italian Touch (229 S Loudoun St) Date of Crime: September 29-30, 2011 Type of Crime: Larceny While customers were in the bar side of the business on the night of September 29 until the early hours of September 30, 2011, someone entered the closed restaurant side and took a large Vizio television. A black male wearing a hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans was seen carrying a television in the area.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - December 12, 2011 On September 28, 2011, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office responded to an armed robbery at Liberty Gas Station on Millwood Pike. An unknown suspect entered the store, produced a black handgun, and demanded money from the clerks. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’4” to 5’6” tall, slender to average build. Suspect was wearing a black hoodie , dark jeans and a white t-shirt covering his face so only his eyes could be seen. The clerks handed over a significant sum of money to the suspect, who then fled the store in an unknown direction and unknown means of travel. Winchester Crime of the Week - December 5, 2011 Location: 1000 block of Franklin St Date of Crime: October 17, 2011 Type of Crime: Robbery The victim was sitting on his porch using his laptop when two males approached him asking for a cigarette. One male then displayed a handgun and took the laptop from the victim. Both suspects ran behind the residence. The suspect with the handgun was described as a black male, 20-30 years old, 180 lbs, 5’8”-6’, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and baggy jeans. The other male was a black male 180 lbs, 5’8”-6’ tall.

Winchester Crime of the Week - November 21,2011 Location: Hilton Garden Inn (150 Wingate Dr) and Wingate Inn (150 Wingate Dr) Date of Crime: September 24, 2011 Type of Crime: Larcenies from Vehicles In the early morning hours a suspect was seen looking into vehicles on the lots of the Hilton Garden Inn and the Wingate Inn. Later the vehicle owners reported items missing from their vehicles. The suspect was described as a white male and about 6’ tall.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - November 11, 2011 The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny between September 10 and September 13, 2011 at the 300 block of Newlins Hill Road. The victim reported that unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered his residence. Once inside, suspect(s) removed a LG 55 inch flat screen TV, black in color. This appeared to be the only item taken.

Winchester Crime of the Week - November 7,2011 Location: Montague Avenue United Methodist Church (102 Montague Ave) Date of Crime: September 18-19, 2011 Type of Crime: Burglary Someone entered the Montague Avenue United Methodist Church located at 102 Montague Ave in the City of Winchester overnight September 18-19, 2011. The suspect(s) rummaged through all the rooms and damaged the door to the church office.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - October 31,2011 The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny which occurred at the 100 block of Rectors Lane, in Frederick County between September 11 and September 12, 2011. The victims reported that unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered a garage on their property and removed several vehicles, including a black go-cart, a yellow dirt bike and a Colbin 50cc four wheeler, green in color.

Winchester Crime of the Week - October 24,2011 Location: 100 block E Piccadilly Street Date of Crime: September 26, 2011 Type of Crime: Robbery The victim advised that she was sitting on a step with her cell phone on her knee when a male approached and took her phone. She followed him to get it back and the male brandished a handgun and demanded the other cell phone the victim had. The victim screamed and the male ran eastbound toward Fairfax Lane. The suspect was described as a black male, 18 years old, 5’6”, heavyset, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and red basketball shorts with white stripe down the side.

Winchester Crime of the Week - October 7, 2011 Location: 7 Eleven ( 715 S Braddock St) Date of Crime: September 25, 2011 Type of Crime: Robbery A little after 4am a suspect with a knife entered the business and demanded money from the clerks. The clerks complied and the suspect ran south on Braddock Street. The suspect was described as a light skin black male, 5’8”-5’10”, wearing a baseball cap, heavy red sweatshirt with the hood up, blue jeans and a black scarf or bandana which he held over his mouth.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - October 3, 2011 The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary, larceny and sexual assault that occurred on July 25, 2011 at the 4600 Block of Martinsburg Pike. The victim reported she was awakened in the early hours of the morning by an unknown intruder who sexually assaulted her, then removed several items of her personal property and fled the residence.

Winchester Crime of the Week - September 26, 2011 Location: Douglas Learning Center (598 N Kent St.) Date of Crime: July 22-25, 2011 Type of Crime: Vandalism Employees of the Douglas Learning Center, located at 598 N Kent St, noticed damage to the aluminum vents and concrete surrounding a classroom trailer. It appears that someone kicked them to cause the damage.

Winchester Crime of the Week – September12,2011 Location: Malloy Ford & Kern Motor Company Date of Crime: July 28-29, 2011 & August 6-8, 2011 Type of Crime: Property Damage Three vehicles for sale on the lot of Malloy Ford at 1911 Valley Avenue and six vehicles on the lot of Kern Motor Company at 2110 Valley Avenue were damaged on two separate weekends when someone “keyed” or scratched them.

Winchester Crime of the Week - August 29,2011 Location: Home Depot, 2350 Legge Blvd Date of Crime: July 5-12, 2011 Type of Crime: Grand Larceny The manager reported that numerous metal displays were missing from a storage area behind the business. The items include hollow beam shelves, orange and gray steel frames, wire grids, and steel garden tables.

Winchester Crime of the Week - August 22,2011 Location: 500 block of Virginia Avenue Date of Crime: July 18, 2011 Type of Crime: Breaking and Entering The victim came home and noticed a black SUV in front of her residence. She then saw a black male in his 20’s, 6’ tall, wearing a white t-shirt get into the SUV, back up in her driveway and head west on Virginia Avenue. Once inside the victim noticed all the drawers in her bedroom and living room were open. She found a window near the garage open and under that window she found her TV and jewelry box on the ground. It is believed that only $70 in coins were taken by the suspect.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - August 15, 2011 The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny from the Dollar Saver located at 4740 Martinsburg Pike on July 27, 2011. The General Manager reported that unknown suspect(s) had forcibly entered the business and removed an ATM machine, containing an undetermined amount of cash. Winchester Crime of the Week – August 1,2011 Location: 100 block of Richards Avenue Date of Crime: June 15, 2011 Type of Crime: Breaking & Entering A residence was broken into during the day while the residents were not home. A neighbor noticed 2 teenagers who were in the area talking about entering houses. The teenagers were described as a black male, approximately 15 years old riding a mountain bike and a Hispanic male, approximately 15 years old, wearing a ball cap and walking.

Clarke County Crime of the Week - July 25,2011 This weeks Crime Solvers crime has to do with a rash of daytime breaking and enterings. The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office is investigating numerous daytime burglaries that have occurred at least 15 times from June 17, 2011 until July 12, 2011. The areas of these burglaries are Allen Road, Castleman Road, Browntown Road, Carters Line Road, Virginia National Golf Course, Stringtown Road, Gun Barrel Road, Senseny Road, Red Gate Road, Pyletown Road, Salem Church Road, Swimley Road, Millwood Road and Wickliff Road. Thats a lot of burglaries in a short amount of time. Jewelry was the item of choice in the burglaries with a guitar and gas also stolen. Frederick County Crime of the Week - July 18, 2011
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary, larceny and vandalism to a residence located in the 3500 block of Martinsburg Pike between May 11 and May 14, 2011. The residence has been unoccupied for several years. The owner reported the front window on the porch was broken, the screen of the storm door was cut near the door handle and the storm door was unlocked. A window in the back side of the residence near the porch steps was also broken. A drawer containing miscellaneous jewelry was reportedly taken from the residence. Winchester Crime of the Week – July 11,2011 Location: Winchester Little Theatre (315 W Boscawen St) Date of Crime: May 25-27, 2011 Type of Crime: Grand Larceny Several computers are missing from the Winchester Little Theatre. The items are a black Hewlett Packard computer and a black Acer Aspire computer. The larceny occurred sometime between May 25-27th.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny from Shenandoah Honda, located at 2098 Berryville Pike. Unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the business by removing steel wall panels at the rear of the building. Taken were four CRF150R red and white offroad dirt bikes. Several other bikes were moved and damaged. The cash register in the retail area was opened and the cash removed.

Winchester Crime of the Week – June 27, 2011 Location: Hess Auto Sales, 2825 Valley Ave Date of Crime: February 2-3, 2011 Type of Crime: Vehicle Theft Employees arrived at work and discovered that a white 2002 Dodge Ram truck was missing from their lot. The truck had never been test-driven and there was no license plate displayed on it.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - June 20, 2011 The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny at 1080 Old Charlestown Road on May 14, 2011. The victim reported someone had forcibly entered her home by breaking a rear window and had taken numerous items, including a .22 caliber blue steel revolver in holster, a Kimber Ultra Carry .45 automatic with night sights, a Marlin .22, and a Weatherby Vanguard .270 rifle. Also taken were various old silver coins and miscellaneous gold jewelry including a Handley High class ring and a 14 ct. diamond tennis bracelet. Clarke County Crime of the Week - June 13, 2011
This weeks Crime Solvers crime has to do with a serious destruction of property and vandalism. The Clarke County Sheriff's Office is investigating an incident that occurred in Clarke County on Feltner Road. Some time during the month of May, 2011, an unknown subject or subjects, fired several bullets into a residence located on this road. This residence is located in a secure area, so the suspects would have had to climb a fence to gain access to the property and shoot at the home. Frederick County Crime of the Week - June 6, 2011 The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny at Larry’s Lawn Care located at 753 Jordan Springs Road. It was reported that sometime between January 29th and January 31st, 2011, unknown suspect(s) entered the business and removed several tools from different locations. Missing items included two Stihl chainsaws, three Stihl hedge trimmers, two leaf blowers, one backpack style and one hand held style. The estimated value of the missing tools is more than $2,000.00.

Winchester Crime of the Week – May 27, 2011 Location: Best Value Inn, 2649 Valley Avenue Date of Crime: April 30, 2011 Type of Crime: Grand Larceny The victim advised that someone took his blue and gray 2008 Wildfire scooter from the area just outside of his room on April 30, 2011. A few days later the scooter was located by officers in the wooded area near Daniel Terrance and Quartzite Circle.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - May 23, 2011 The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny at 763 Jordan Springs Road. The owner reported that sometime between January 6 and 7, 2011, unknown suspects forcibly entered his garage and removed his green Honda Fourtrax 4-wheeler from inside. The vehicle was equipped with a snow plow attachment and displayed an International Firefighters sticker. The value of this larceny is estimated at more than $4,000.00.

Winchester Crime of the Week – May 16, 2011 Location: 1000 block of Franklin St Date of Crime: April 9, 2011 around 23:00 hours Type of Crime: Attempted Breaking & Entering The victims were in the process of moving and had left their dogs at the residence. The neighbor heard the dogs barking which was unusual, so he went to check on them and noticed an unknown male at the back door with an object such as a putty knife or credit card in his hand. The suspect ran off as soon as the neighbor attempted to make contact with him. The suspect was described as black or Hispanic, 5’9”, wearing a black beanie hat, dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - May 9, 2011 The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny that occurred at 5665 Northwestern Pike between January 21st and 22nd, 2011. It was reported that unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the business and removed an AMI Bill Changer machine. Although there were many items of value in the restaurant, nothing else was reportedly taken. The value of the change machine and its contents is estimated at more than $1900.00.

Winchester Crime of the Week – February 28, 2011 Location: S. Braddock St & Wolfe St Date of Crime: February 4-5, 2011 Type of Crime: Vandalism to Vehicles Numerous vehicles in the area of S. Braddock St & Wolfe St were vandalized overnight on February 4-5, 2011. The vehicles had their windows shattered possibly as a result of someone firing a BB gun.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - April 25,2011 The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a grand larceny and vandalism that occurred at Milburn Road and McCanns Road between December 18 and December 31, 2010. The property is a cemetery owned by Emmanuel United Methodist Church. The caretaker reported that on December 31, 2010, he noticed a birdhouse had been pushed over and that one of the aluminum cast plaques near the birdhouse was missing from its pole. The estimated value of this plaque is $1,300.00.

Winchester Crime of the Week – April 18, 2011 Location: Walmart (2350 S Pleasant Valley Rd) Date of Crime: March 6, 2011 Type of Crime: Larceny of a helmet A male and female shoplifted 2 televisions from Walmart (2350 S Pleasant Valley Rd). The suspects were described as a white male, 20-25 years old, 5’8”-6’, 165 lbs, brown hair, wearing a black Nike hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans and a white female, 20-25 years old, 5’2”-5’6”, 130 lbs, black hair, wearing a black jacket w/ fur lining the hood and blue jeans. They were seen leaving the area in a gray or silver 4 door vehicle.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - April 11,2011 The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny at Air Solutions, located at 124 Cole Lane. The owner reported that sometime on January 17, 2011, unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the business by breaking out a window on the west side of the building. Once inside, suspects removed two clear plastic bags containing approximately $1,000 each in loose change. A light colored pickup truck with a crew cab was seen leaving the vicinity of the burglary.

Clarke County Crime of the Week - March 28, 2011 This weeks Crime Solvers crime has to do with a breaking and entering and vandalism. The Clarke County Sheriff's Office is investigating a breaking and entering that occurred at the historic Wickliffe Church located on Wickliffe Road in northeastern Clarke County. During the evening hours of March 4, 2011 or the early morning hours of March 5th, someone used a crowbar to gain entry to the church. Yellow paint and duct tape was used to vandalize the interior of the church. There were several Nazi and Hitler references. The cost for the clean up was significant. Frederick County Crime of the Week - March 20, 2011 This weeks Crime Solvers crime has to do with a vandalism and destruction of property. The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a vandalism that occurred at 1160 Jordan Springs Roadon January 19, 2011. The owner/operator of Historic Jordan Springs reported that several vehicles located on the property had been scratched and had all four tires punctured. It was further reported that a statue of Jesus located in the front yard had been pushed off its pedestal and the head broken off. The owner was unable to locate the head of the statue. Damage to the items was estimated at approximately $2,000.00.

Winchester Crime of the Week – March 14, 2011 Location: Borders (2420 S Pleasant Valley Rd) Date of Crime: January 28, 2011 Type of Crime: Larceny of a Wallet, Credit Card Fraud The victim reported that her wallet was missing after shopping at Borders. Video shows a black female in her 40-50’s, 5’5”, 150 lbs wearing a dark coat bump into the victim and walk away looking into a wallet. The female is later seen using the victim’s credit card accompanied by a black male who is in his 40-50’s, 6’1”, 260. They were seen driving a gray Dodge Charger.

Frederick County Crime fo the Week - March 7, 2011 The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny at 2264 Senseny Road on December 31, 2010. Unknown suspect(s) forced entry to the residence and removed two Playstation game systems an Apple IPad, an Apple IPod, an air compressor and other tools , two flat screen TV’s, miscellaneous gold and diamond jewelry, and an unknown amount of U. S. Currency. The estimated total larceny value is more than $28,000.00.

Frederick County Crime of the Week – February21,2011
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny on September 29, 2010 at 647 Perry Road. The victim reported that unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the residence through the front door and removed two guns, including a .22 caliber revolver and a Smith & Wesson 9 millimeter semi-automatic handgun. Also taken was miscellaneous jewelry including numerous necklaces and rings, as well as a Sherando High School class ring with two small diamonds and 2004 engraved on the side.

Winchester Crime of the Week – February 14, 2011 Location: Wellness Center, 401 Campus Blvd Date of Crime: January 19, 2010 Type of Crime: Larceny The victim took her rings off in the locker room after a workout at the Wellness Center and later realized she left them there. She returned to look for them and they were missing and had not been turned into lost and found. They were described as a white gold engagement ring and wedding band set.

Frederick County Crime of the Week - Febuary 7, 2011 The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and grand larceny which occurred between November 3 and November 4, 2010 at Zuckerman’s, located at 207 Ebert Road. The victim reported that a padlock had been broken off one of the doors and approximately 600 feet of welding lead was taken from the upstairs part of the building. Also missing was 150 lbs. of copper and 100 lbs. of brass from a location outside the building. Estimated value of the larceny is $3,325.00.

Winchester Crime of the Week – January 31, 2011 Location: Hollister’s, 1850 Apple Blossom Dr Date of Crime: December 26, 2010 Type of Crime: Assault & Battery On the afternoon of December 26, 2010 the victim was shopping in Hollister’s at the Apple Blossom Mall when an unknown female corrected the victim’s child. A verbal argument ensued between the women, which then turned into a physical fight. The victim was battered by the female and then by a male who was with the female.
The female suspect was described as a white female in her thirties and heavyset. The male was described as a white male in his forties, short, and had a thin build.

The victim, Jerry Mills, reported that unknown person(s) had entered the residence, damaged a door and window and removed miscellaneous jewelry boxes from their original positions and left several jewelry boxes and jewelry items on the dresser, bed and floor in the bedroom.

Winchester Crime of the Week - January 17, 2011 Location: 2500 block of Papermill Road Date of Crime: December 18, 2010 Type of Crime: Hit & Run, Pedestrian Struck In the early morning hours of December 18, 2010 the victim was walking home in the street because the sidewalks were covered in snow. He was struck by a red passenger car and the impact tore the vehicle’s passenger side view mirror off. The vehicle did not stop and it is unknown in which direction it went.

The victim reported that unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the residence by prying open the back door. Once inside, suspect(s) ransacked the home and removed items, including a wedding ring set, which is described as a 1 carat diamond set in platinum with a matching wedding band with several small diamonds set around it.
